Beginner Programs

We offer three beginner rider programs to teach the fundamentals needed to progress into the Recreational Riding Program and beyond. Perfect for riders with limited experience, returning riders who need a refresher, or those brand new to riding! 

These lessons run year round in monthly sessions. Open to riders 4 years and older. Adults welcome!

Introductory Program

Introduction to riding and horsemanship to start new riders on their riding journeys

For riders: New to riding and horse handling or are not yet able to walk /trot, tack and handle horses independently
Lessons: 4 week sessions 1 hour private lesson / week 
Cost: $90 / lesson (tax included)
Semi-private and group introductory lessons may be available on request

Beginner Pairs Program

For riders who have some horse handling and riding experience but are not yet ready for group lessons

For riders: Able to groom a horse and ride at the walk independently and have been introduced to the trot
Lessons: Monthly (4 week) sessions - 1 hour semi-private / week
Cost: $76 + HST / rider / lesson

Beginner Horsemanship Program

A starter course on groundwork and horse care including horse handling, grooming, and tacking

For clients: For those new to horses and want to work with them on the ground prior to riding or wanting to connect with horses on the ground only
Lessons: 4 week sessions with a 30-minute lesson / week 
Cost: $45 / lesson (tax included)

What to Bring to Your Lessons

Riders must bring:
- Long comfortable pants
- Boots with 1/2 inch to 1 inch heel
- Horseback riding helmet (no other helmet types permitted)
- Tall rubber boots 

Parents/Spectators:
- Must wear close-toed shoes (Sandals are not allowed)
-Tall rubber boots 
(for parents/guardians of children under the age of 16 who may need their adult’s assistance bringing in or turning out their horse)​

 New riders are also required to have a completed rider information and emergency contact sheet and waiver before riding, which are linked below.

Lesson Policies

All lessons must be booked and paid for in advance.
There are no makeups or refunds for missed lessons.
Riders under 16 years of age must have supervision from a parent or guardian when on the property
Riders are required to provide their own riding appropriate footwear, rubber boots, and horseback riding helmet.
